Your Coworker('s Job) Will Die

The Thesis

Welcome! David outlines the thesis for the season to come. After nearly 30 years in the design field, things are changing all over again. We’ll take a look at the impact of AI on design in tech. We’ll get a sense of what people are doing with it. And we’ll take a look at the tech itself and see if we can sharpen our skills. Each show will cover a serious topic, but sometimes in an unserious way. Thanks for joining!

Getting started

Today’s the day I’m uploading and publishing episodes for the first time. I’m aiming to have an episode at least every 2 weeks, but preferably more often and more consistent than that.

This is a work in progress, a learning endeavor, a spiritual quest, an uncharted path, and so on and so forth and I’m looking forward to having a new multi-faceted challenge. As I have worked through the first few episodes, I started to get the hang of it. I will continue to try new things and the show will evolve as a result.

What’s this show about?

Over the course of the coming weeks and months, the show will cover a lot of serious topics:

  1. A look at what AI has done to the job search experience

  2. AI’s impact on the dynamics in our teams

  3. Design and tech process changes

  4. … and so much more

But make no mistake… I don’t take myself seriously enough to tell these stories without a little schtick along the way.

Why are you doing this?

I’m doing this podcast for a few reasons.

  1. I have always loved and listened to podcasts

  2. I am a turbo fan of long-time radio shows

  3. I have been looking for an additional creative outlet and new challenge

  4. Buying fancy audio equipment is fun
